Product Description

Book Description

Trust Unwrapped is half story, half textbook. Each right hand page tells the fictional story of Laura Anderson, a successful young executive in the chocolate industry, who climbs the career ladder by bending the rules. Learning the hard way that lies don't pay.

Each left hand page supports the story with facts, news clippings, research findings and the odd cartoon that all go to show how the little 5 letter word TRUST can make a huge difference to your business, family and community.

From the Publisher

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read format and loved the perspective, 22 Jun 2009
As my title states - this was very easy to read AND I really liked the format - it worked well. The story itself is a little 'fairytale' but heh... The left hand side input was very valuable & excellent input.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy and thought-provoking read, may lead to sleep deprivation, 26 Jan 2009
By Peter Croft (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Being honest, when I picked this up to start reading it, it was late at night, and I just wanted something to give me my reading "fix" before sleep. I was relying on it to be sufficiently boring that I'd be happy to read only a handful of pages at a time. So it was something of a shock to put the book down almost 2 hours later (thus matching the authors' stated reading time!) having read it cover to cover.

The format (snippet/cutting/thought on left page, narrative story on right) works surprisingly well; neither distracts from the other for long enough to irritate, and the combination of fiction and real world examples serve to make the authors' points without ever becoming preachy or beating you over the head.

My only minor gripe (apart from lack of sleep) is that despite the inevitable moment of angst part-way through, there is a certain "Hollywood charmed" quality to the way all the characters breeze through to their fulfilled and perfect endings. But hey, it's fiction, and the fiction is just a vehicle to make the reader think, so it's eminently forgivable, and more of a personal bugbear than a real criticism.

If you're looking for a typical business guide, this isn't it. If you're looking for a very accessible and thought-provoking take on the role of trust and ethical behaviour in business that goes considerably deeper than might first appear, pop a copy in your basket now.
