The compact design perfectly closes to keep the ports clean and dust out. No need for an additional carry case.
I've used the mini hub with XP and Vista without any problems.
Only one downside that may not be down to the hub, is that certain devices don't always get detected first time they are connected, such as my iPhone. That could however be due to the iPhone USB cable not being plugged in securely.
