Product Description

An award-winning author uses politics and paybacks to trap a woman between a murder rap and a murderer in this gripping romantic thriller. When her prominent politician ex-husband is murdered, a woman becomes the prime suspect and later the target for a powerful enemy who doesn't want her to dig up the truth.

From the Author

A few words about my latest romantic thriller
TRUST NO ONE was an absolute pleasure to write and to research as well since it takes place in one of my favorite places in the entire world -- Monterey, California. The story revolves around Julia Bradshaw, a hard-working single mother. She is divorced from her powerful politician ex-husband and is trying to make a new life for her and her young son. When her ex-husband is brutally murdered however, Julia becomes the prime suspect. Shortly afterwards, an old man dies in a strange accident and Julia soon realizes that man may have held the key to her husband's murder.

Meanwhile, in Florida, Steve Reyes, a former investigative reporter, hears about the politician and the old man's murders. Realizing both murders are tied to his past, he goes to Monterey, California to investigate.

Can Julia Bradshaw trust him? When her every instinct is telling her to TRUST NO ONE?

You decide. And do let me know what you thought of the book. Best wishes to all.

Christiane Heggan

Fantastic 21 Feb 2006
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I have read many of Christiane Heggans books in the last few months. This one was fantastic. I couldn't put it down until I reached the end. Read the whole thing in a day. A brillaint read.

I really like this book, I couldn't figure out who was the actual [bad guy] until the end. I like this book because it was different from the outcome. I try to figure out who the murderer really is and this book kept me guessing until the end. I like the little romantic interlude, which didn't take from the characters. I also like how the picture was painted, you could feel the love she had for Frank, it felt as though she was truly shocked when she found it was he who really killed her brother. I felt she could have done more with Gleic Eire, make them appear ruthless, this only talked about past bombings and the one murder of Eli Seavers. They didn't appear as though they were a real terrorist group more like the four stooges, especially when McDermott hired his cousin to find the tape and actually botch the job. But all in all I like the book.

Not her best 1 Sep 1999
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Christiane Heggan's latest novel left me a little disappointed, with more questions than answers.

When Julia Bradshaw's ex-husband is found murdered all eyes are turned to Julia. Even though Julia hated her ex-husband, she didn't kill him. Trying to clear her name, Julia is introduced to a frail old man with a failing memory who makes a comment about an Irish Liberation group. This brings the attention of Steve Reyes, an ex-reporter whose girlfriend was killed by this same group eight years earlier. The same girlfriend who was also Julia's ex-sister-in-law.

Steve comes to stay with Julia at her Bed and Breakfast and the two go about trying to solve Paul Bradshaw's murder together. In the meantime, the two fall in love but keeping secrets from eachother.

Although this could have been a good book, I found that there were too many unanswered questions. Characters were introduced, but never explained. This isn't Christiane Heggan's style. I'd much rather recommend Suspicion or Deception
