Product Description

Trust eLight LED Illuminated Keyboard

Would you like to see the keys on your keyboard easily in the dark? Then this keyboard is for you.

eLight Technology in 3 Colours

You probably recognise the problem: working on your computer late at night, but typing gets harder by the minute due to the lack of lighting. If you wish to continue working comfortably without having to turn on the light for the whole room, then this eLight illuminated keyboard is ideal. The key characters on this keyboard are backlighted to ensure they remain visible all night.

Don't like the colour? You can easily switch the colour between aqua, blue, green or just turn off the backlight at the touch of a button.

Shape and Size

Despite its compact size, there is no need to compromise on comfort with this keyboard. The eLight is a full-size keyboard, with a light stroke for easy and comfortable typing. With its compact, space-saving design, the keyboard is ideally suited for a neat and tidy workplace.

Multimedia Keys

Next to the backlighting switch button, the keyboard features 10 multimedia keys for direct access to your Internet browser, emails or media player.

Plug and Play

The eLight illuminated keyboard is developed following the Plug and Play concept. Simply plug in the keyboard, your computer installs the keyboard automatically within a few seconds and you're ready to go. No drivers, CDs or extra software are needed.

I got this keyboard because as a rule I hate laptop keyboards. I always miss a fullsized keyboard whenever I am using one and they are usually not the most pleasing things from a tactile prospective. This keyboard though feel sturdy, is quite nice to use and the blue LED effect is very nice and gives the keyboard a note of personality. On the whole it's a very solid keyboard though I'm sure you can get one for a similar price with way more functions, buttons and a nicer feel this is probably the best backlit keyboard you're going to get for the price and for what it's worth it's still on its on strengths a very nice keybaord.

The are a couple of gripes, first of all the way it achieves the blue backlit effect means that the actual characters on the keys are very faded when the backlight isn't on so this means you'll need to have the effect on all the time. This isn't a bad thing, as I say it's very tasteful and not at all distracting, but for some people I just know it's going to irrationaly send up the wall.

Second of all, The windows key is not where I'd associated it to be. Instead we have a function key and the only windows key is now found on the right side, some use with the keyboard will retrain your brain but early on I found it an unusual design choice and kind of irritating at times. I assumed they did this to save placing another key on the board and I am now glad they didn't stick it on the right as I actually think it'll be way more intuitive that way then to stick it on the right side.

The enter key is a tad on the small side, I like my enter keys to dominate the keyboard like the badass it is.

Overall though it's a very pleasing keyboard to use.

For information the function keys available to you are: Media Player, Volume Down, Volume Up, Mute, Previous Track, Next Track, Play/Pause, Stop, Internet, E-mail, Display, Bookmark.

This is a superb keyboard. Removes the need for putting lights on and/or squinting closley to see what you're typing. Responsive keys and useful hot keys.

I thoroughly recommend this item.

I just received this keyboard yesterday. The first thing I noticed out of the box was the lustrous finish of the casing. It is highly polished and reflective. Very classy and sophisticated and alluring. The shell also has a very small profile. The width is standard keyboard length but it is extremely thin, this is very nice and adds to the clean look. There are two stands on the back of the keyboard which can be lowered to elevate the angle.

It worked right from the box, no drivers and no setup required. The keys lit with a very soft yet permeating glow. They are not overly bright and can easily be seen without any effort. There is a on/off switch for the led as well. The keys have a satin-like finish to them. They grip your fingers and it feels quite natural to type on. The keys also have zero resistance, I think this is the easiest keyboard I've ever used.

I was not expecting to see the quality of the keys. I'm in the USA and this type of item for this price and this quality simply does not exist, at all. Nothing similar to this keyboard exists here for under $100 USD. Even with the shipping cost it was still less expensive than anything I could hope for here.

As a side note: being from the US, I was humored by the difference in keys between US and EU layouts.

There are only two things that I have any problem with.

1. I am not familiar with EU layout so this may be standard: the shift key is a bit lower than I am used to. The caps lock is where I'm used to the shift being.

2. The spacebar when hit at the angle of my right thumb does not always connect with the sensor. I can only reproduce this at that angle.

I have had many back lit keyboards in the past... from cheap clacky one's from Hong Kong to the more popular well known types such as the 'Saitek Eclipse Keyboard' for example. This is by far a better looking keyboard than most with it's Matt Black keys and Piano Black body. The Blue LED Lights under each and every key is much brighter than the aforementioned Eclipse keyboard, with some very smart shortcuts built in. There are no installation disc's, so you just plug it in and away you go.

Admittedly the keys are slightly louder than the Eclipse, but the brighter LED lights certainly more than make up for this. The smaller enter key isn't a real issue as some reviewers have make it out to be, and at the fraction of the Eclipse's cost it doesn't really matter, as you'll soon get use to it. This keyboard is simply a bargain with only one small gripe from me... You do need to keep the lights on all of the time because even in the daylight the letters and numbers are hard to see... but who cares, the LED's make this keyboard really cool to look at day or night.

I found it difficult to get a simple illuminated keyboard everything I looked at was aimed at the gamers and had a lot of extras which I just did not need. Needless to say these keyboards were quite expensive. I eventually came across this one and I have to say it fits the bill perfectly. Everything I need at a reasonable price.
