Suitable surfaces:
Mouse mats, paper(even white paper)/cardboard or any non reflective surfaces
Problems with the item in question:
The mouse came misaligned and as such causing judders in the cursor, making it inappropriate for drawing/gaming. This is however a problem that I have experience with many mice of this price range and is easily rectified if you don't mind possibly loosing your warranty on the item by opening it up.
Overall:
I recommend this mouse to everyone, for the reason that it works on virtually any surface other than those reflective (such as reflective plastics or some varnish coats on woods). I have used more expensive mice that are very touchy about what surface you use them on. The misalignment however does pose a little problem for out of the box use (though it is likely that this problem is specific to the particular batch that mine came from).
