I bought these to replace the longer 38w type that protruded beyond lamp. They are superb, beautiful light, works very well on my still photography setup.

The bulb reaches its maximum brightness almost immediately when turned on, and my colorimeter reports a color temperature of 5300 K. I find it well suited to illuminate a subject to be photographed, and also to check colors and tones of prints against a calibrated and profiled display, or against the subject. I don't know what its CRI is, but for what it costs, and given it fits in common lamp fixtures, it is a convenient solution to me. Also, given the particular spiral shape and size of the bulb (approx. diameter 9cm), it is by itself a somewhat diffused light source, as opposed to a point light source.

Using this light at night is amazing. The whole room lights up for just 35 watts of electricity. Interesting shape that spreads the light well. I dont use it for photography but if ever i need to its there. The daylight light is very stimulating and uplifting when you are working on a dull old day. My office window is north facing so very low light sometimes. Love it, well worth the price. Great value considering how expensive ordinary bulbs can cost in shops.

Used in adjustable arm lamps in order to illuminate a light tent or small items for macro photography. I have no way of checking the exact colour temperature of them but with the camera set to auto on the white balance control results seem OK. They run cool so not too many worries of over heating.
