After lord-alone-knows-how-many albums, Holly's finally getting the kind of good reviews and attention she's always deserved. It's all down to her guest appearance on the White Stripe's last album, of course, where she sparred with Jack and Meg on "Well it's true that we love one another", but that's no big deal. Her talent backs up the buzz that's beginning to build around her.
Her albums are (like the Stripes') beguilingly low-tech, and 'Truly There is None Other' is a good place to start. Be prepared, though, to do damage to your bank balance when you suddenly have an unstoppable urge to purchase her (rather large) back catalogue!
