My husband is a vegetarian and I am not. We prefer to eat together, but I don't like any of the 'fake' food that vegetarians eat, the meat substitutes, and would rather eat things I'd choose in restaurants. Ursula Ferrigno writes clearly, beautifully, and gives great, helpful tips. But it's her recipes that are the stars. With wonderful photographs, Ferrigno's recipes are unfussily easy, but brilliantly harmonious, using ingredients in a way that reveals her instinctive ability to put them together, and her respect for the Italian regional cooking that inspires her. I know this gushing makes it sound like I might know her, but of course I don't - I'm just delighted that she's made it possible for me and my husband to enjoy eating together. And I'm becoming a better cook.
I have all her other books, even the out of print ones, which I tracked down. They're all worth having. I've bought well over a dozen vegetarian cookbooks, I ONLY use hers. Essential.
