All four books in the series are written by someone who obviously knows their history and the information about the British Napoleonic army.
Goldsworthy also has the skill to develop stories within the historical framework, about characters who are believable and situations that spring out of the main historical situations the army found itself in.
Very readable, with great characters (a great "Band of Brothers") and interest is maintained throughout. One not only gets a good story, but an interesting background to the period. this is delivered in such a style that it doesn't detract from the story. Newcomers to the period will get a good introduction to events during the Napoleonic wars.
All 4 books in the series are highly recommended by me.
