I dare you not to appreciate the overt sexuality of the R&B (proper R&B not that bass stuff...) & blues created by the superlative Mrs Geraldo on True Love. Never afraid to use sex as a weapon (ahem) - while always aware of the abuse her sex has received - Pat creates warm wet circles in each song - particularly notable being the rare tracks written in house, but I love the attitude of BB King's Payin' the cost of being the boss. If you haven't seen it, the video to the title track is stunning - you can see Pat's hair's stand out on her arms as she acts the part - and the young lovers are beautiful & sensual.
Pat then leaves the blues to follow a rockier path on Gravity's Rainbow. Although possibily exceeded in angst & sheer song writing abiity by Innamorata (the album following GR & probably her very best), the album delivers deep, personal messages in typically gutsy form such as on Rise II.
Before I forget to mention - Benatar's voice is sublime throughout.
