I think Volume 5 comes close to Volume 3 in terms of the quality of the illustrations and the storyline; however, there were some continuity issues with how Jason was portrayed at the beginning, as clean shaven and looking about eighteen, and then later on, with a goatee and looking much older. The plot revolves around a group of super powerful werewolves bent on a murderous rampage and how they are stopped. Without giving too much away, Alcide's character is explored in detail and sympathy for him deepens as a result. The writing is top-notch with the writers being able to capture the "voices" of the characters as they are on the show. Pam gets the best lines as always. The best parts of the book explore the folklore of Louisiana's Cajun culture and the illustrations of the bayou are absolutely beautiful. I recommend this heartily!
