Truckers, the first of Terry Pratchett's novels to be adapted for TV brings to life the story of the Nomes. 15000 years ago the Nomes crashed to Earth in a scout ship from the starship Swan. Generations of them have come and gone with the passing years and the changing countryside. Suddenly faced with extinction, the ten surviving Nomes, guided by their reluctant leader Masklin, must face many exciting adventures during their search for a new home and hiding place in the big, bad world of the humans.

I remember watching this when I was a small child and it's something that's always stuck in my mind. Needless to say when I found the video on here I bought it straight away.
Now I've always thought that Terry Pratchett is something that needs to be left to the book. The humour is rarely going to be matched. This however I think pulls it off. I'm not saying it's an exact representation. Down to every tiny detail. But it's kept the characters well. Granny Morkey stubborn and proud but very funny in her own right. Grimma a fantastic new age woman (nome). If you don't feel like picking up a book then I suggest giving this a try.
Fans of stop motion animation like myself would also find this a good viewing. Made by the same people (I beleive) who made 'The Wind In The Willows' stop motion animations (Mr Toad voiced by David Jason), also another set of videos if found should be watched.

This film isnt a bad representation of the book by Terry Pratchett. It is a suitable film for all ages and is full of laughs. I loved the film so much I went and got the book of amazon. The nomes look funny and the effects are reasonable. Overall it is a great film for families and good for young children.

Well animated version of this non-Discworld Pratchett title. A great story with strong characters, from the first of a trilogy of books. Akin to the Borrowers.
