Product Description

Elizabeth knows what’s expected of her, perfection. She’s the daughter of an Earl and expected to marry well, say and do the right things with a smile on her face when inside she’s dying for a chance to escape. Thanks to an inheritance her godmother left her years ago, her chance will come with her next birthday. Her hopes of escape abruptly end when Robert, her childhood nemesis that she hasn’t seen in over fourteen years, comes back into her life and does everything he can to drive her out of her mind even as he steals her heart.

He hated her.

At least, he tried to hate her, but it was so damn difficult to hate someone that he couldn’t live without. He tried to ignore her, tried to focus on anything but her, but nothing worked. Somehow she made her way into his heart and started to make him want things that he never thought possible, made him smile and laugh even while she drove him out of his mind and started a legacy by turning him into…..

A Bradford.

Author's Note:
This is first and foremost a historical novel. This novel is written differently than the other Neighbor from Hell books. Truce is about a man who takes everything too damn seriously and can’t let go of the past until the woman that he would love to hate comes back into his life and brings out the Bradford within.

5.0 out of 5 stars laugh out loud amazing 12 May 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Normally I'm not a fan of period novels, they just don't interest me - but considering I'd read all the other neighbours from hell I just couldn't resist reading this.

I loved Elizabeth and Robert, I loved the way both of them didn't want to conform to what society dictated, what their parent dictated. And the pranks they pulled on each other had me laughing out loud whilst reading.

So even if like me you're a bit iffy on old town London and fancy society in the 1800's read this - it's well worth it

4.0 out of 5 stars Back to the beginning. 9 Nov 2014
By Deborah TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
I've absolutely no idea why I've waited so long to read this book since I've loved the previous neighbor books but anyway I finally got round to it and loved it.
It's everything you'd expect from this author, it takes us back to England 1809 and the first neighbours from hell. Elizabeth is the daughter of an Earl and she's expected to behave like a lady at all times even at seven years old she knows what's expected of her, Elizabeth may only be seven but she has a huge crush on her neighbour James, he's her prince, she feels completely differently about his younger brother Robert now he is the neighbour from hell and they have a hate hate relationship, but everything gets out of hand and they end up not seeing each other for fourteen years.
This is funny and entertaining the characters are wonderful and I really enjoyed it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not your usual Neighbour from Hell 22 Mar 2014
By KOB
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This latest Neighbour from Hell book is good, it's just not as good as the previous instalments. The characters are great and so are some of the scenarios. However I live in England and found some of the ideas about period society and historical culture a bit wide of the mark. RL I love your writing but either leave the 'old country' out of it or let me edit it, worth a try?

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible =) 24 Feb 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Probably one of the best books R.L. Mathewson has written yet!! I'm not going to give too much away so I'll just share the points which got me hooked, as with the other neighbour from hell books the animosity at first between the two main characters always pulls me in, the bickering and banter as well as the plain just trying to piss each other off keeps me chucking throughout the books. I love how she doesn't change the dynamics in their relationship too much when they inevitably get together =) the thing about this book is it made me cry at one point soooo much that I was blubbering like a baby and to evoke such strong emotions from a reader just shows what a truly gifted writer this author is!! I would recommended any o the books written by this author as I have immensely enjoyed all of them, I can not wait for what ever comes next =D

5.0 out of 5 stars mazing sex, romance and comedy 26 Feb 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Another great book from the brilliant R.L Mathewson!!

I loved the historical romance, brought to this series, to explain the beginning and the start of the Bradford clan.
There were some amazing sex, romance and comedy parts to this book, which kept me wanting more. I was sad to say the least, when I came to the end of the story, because I just wanted to keep reading.
I can't wait for the next great piece of work from R.L Mathewson.

3.0 out of 5 stars good but not great 23 Dec 2013
By ELLEN55
Format:Kindle Edition
I think my title says it all in a nut shell, this book is a good read but quite forgettable. I have read it snd enjoyed it but will never reread it and by next week I will have completely forgotten it.
The story line was good throughout the book until the last few chapters, then it seemed rushed as if the author had a word deadline.
Would read this author again but onky for a light holiday read

4.0 out of 5 stars As good as the others 12 Aug 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As with the first three books in this series, I enjoyed this one as much as the others. Yes, there were anomalies with regards to the historical period and the language is not quite as it should be, but who cares! Mathewson remained true to her characters and made me laugh, and I enjoyed seeing Jason and Haley again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book
I really liked this book, it filled in some of the back ground info that wasn't included in the rest of the series. I think it was a great way to round the series off.
