I'm afraid I have to disagree with the other reviewers of this book, if only so other purchasers go in with their eyes open. This book is very long on philosopy and short on instruction. Mr Wyatt knows his stuff, writes great magazine articles and has invented some stunningly successful fly patterns. I suppose I was hoping for a little more of the "how to" element in this book. Instead he rambles, allbeit entertainingly. He muses here, he theorises there. He speculates. One picture is captioned "Fishing the lift on a Scottish river." but there is no explaination of what fishing the lift means or how to do it. Don't get me wrong. If you are an expert angler yourself then this is a five star book - thought provoking and entertaining. However, if you are like me, and rather hoped Mr Wyatt would share a few more of the nuts and bolts, you might be disappointed.
