This is a very nice book - just like all the others in the series. My grandson loves them all and was delighted to hear that another 5 had been published. It's a treat to see him opening a new one when he visits. One complaint though - why do they insist on sticking advertising stickers on the front cover? I have tried to remove them, only to find it leaves a nasty mark. What a shame to deface a new book.

This one features Thomas as the main protagonist. It tells the story of how Thomas, bored with pulling carriages all day, Thomas is given a chance to pull some trucks by Edward. As you might expect Thomas' inexperience means that he gets into a spot of bother. Anyone who had read more than a few of these books knows that trucks do one of two naughty things: hold back, or push on. In Thomas' case they push on down a hill. It looks like curtains for the little blue tank engine - but he manages to stop just in time. The book closes out with Edward teaching Thomas the correct way to handle trucks.
My son likes it and will grab it off the shelf if he spots it. I think, if pushed, i'd recommend the Hector book over this one (my boy prefers it too!). Hector is a single truck and the story is specifically about him. This one is more about Thomas with the trucks playing a minor role.
Also - this is another one where there's no real lesson for your child to take away.

An own book for the favorite trucks. Nice but had expected more pics and less text.
