PRAISE for THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE

Reader Review, August 7, 2011
"I just finished The Trouble With Love and "I LOVED IT". This is my first Joan Reeves book. I read it on my Kindle and I couldn't put it down. I loved how she had multiple romances going on. I especially loved Rory and Walter's story. My hubby died 16 months ago after a love affair of 33 years and I miss the laughter of our relationship. Joan put lots of life's comedy into the books."

BOOK DESCRIPTION

To catch a thief, Susannah Quinn, a by-the-book deputy, and FBI Special Agent D. E. Hogan (just call me Hogan), pose as husband and wife and go undercover. Unfortunately, Susannah and Hogan have already been undercover – in a bed at the Houston hotel where they first met.

For her part, Susannah wishes her lapse in judgment would take a flying leap and land on Jupiter. Hogan, on the other hand, wants to get the contrary deputy back in his bed, but the complications caused by family – his and hers – pretty much guarantee that's never going to happen.

Throw in an over-the-hill Romeo and his lady love, a single mom determined to have her own love affair, and the charm of a small Texas town, and you get a story with heart and soul and passion. Lots of passion.

Can Susannah and Hogan, two mismatched lovers doing everything in their power to avoid falling in love, catch a thief and recover stolen jewels? The clock is ticking. They have only seven days – and nights – to complete their assignment and resist the sweet siren call of desire.

TOP 5 REASONS TO BUY A BOOK BY JOAN REEVES

1. Joan writes funny, sexy books that are like a "little vacation between the covers of a book."

2. Joan writes book that leave you with a smile.

3. Joan has a daughter getting married next spring. She can use the bucks. Seriously, do you know how much weddings cost?

4. Joan is basically lazy. If you don't buy her books, she'll stop writing and while away the hours reading romance novels, watching WHAT NOT TO WEAR (she could be a poster girl), Buffy reruns, and THE CLOSER. She'll gain 50 pounds from eating Ding Dongs (required snack of The Closer), mope around the house complaining that she's fat, spend all her money on a new wardrobe, refuse to wear the new clothes because they're ugly, join a nudist colony, and get expelled because she'll do nothing but gripe and moan all day, and who wants to see a naked fat woman complaining about how she could have been a contender?

If you like your heroes hot you'll love FBI agent Hogan, who's caught up in a family conundrum during his vacation. Together with deputy sheriff Susannah they manage to get themselves into all sorts of trouble. Sparks fly between them with both determined not to fall in love and of course failing. Lovely secondary romance as well for Susannah's mother. Lots of fun and laughs in the Texas sun!

A rolicking good time! 6 May 2011

Having read and greatly enjoyed Ms. Reeves' novel, Just One Look, I was looking forward to picking up a copy of her newest book. I was not disappointed. Although The Trouble With Love is laced with humor and sensuality, it's also a poignant tale of forgiveness and redemption and knowing when to let go. Our heroine finds her happily ever after, but not before she faces the ghosts of her past and accepts the future that can be hers. Do yourself a favor; download a copy. You won't be disappointed either.

Funny and hotter than a chili pepper! 20 April 2011

I love Joan Reeves' writing and The Trouble With Love is pure page turning escapism.

Susannah Quinn and Hogan make quite the undercover team - undercover on assignment and undercover in bed!

Joan has created a wonderful, fun group of secondary characters who are just as 'real' as Susannah and Hogan.

This is a sensual, funny, battle-of-the-sexes read that is pure joy!

Funny and delightful read.... 15 Jun 2011

This is the third book I read from Ms Reeves and I'll have to say I enjoy her writing. Her books are humorous, romantic and sensual. This book was very enjoyable. Story is about Hogan, a FBI agent on vacation trying to help his family recover some stolen jewels, and Susannah, a young Deputy with aspirations of becoming big in law enforcement. Hogan and Susannah met once in Houston and since then, they have been attracted to each other. Only later, she realizes that they have to work together in an undercover operation to recover some stolen jewelry.

Susannah's character is a complex one due to her tough childhood and things surrounding her family. They have pushed her to alienate relationships and given her a skewed view on love and marriage. Hogan has always been a man on the move, he lives for his job and has a weekness for his family. He didn't hesitate when his uncle asked him for help.

The banter between the characters was hilarious, you can feel the sexual tension and attraction between them. It was very entertaining to see them work together. Working so close was difficult for both of them for many reasons, but unfortunately, there were too many secrets among them to make something work. There are lots of secondary characters that add to this story. I only wish the ending would include an Epilogue so you can followup with everyone and see what happened with their lives.... But overall, great read for an excellent price!
