this is one of my favourite george formby films, not to mention one of the best comedies of the 30s.
in this one, george is a worker at a major newspaper who stumbles onto a bootlegging racket. fancing himself as a modern day sherlock holmes, he sets out to unravel the mystery.
a load of formby films were shown on t.v between the late 80s to the early 90s; this film was one of the few that i kept once i recorded it.
then suddenly, ten george formby films were released on video several years ago. a godsend to say the least. now they should be issued on d.v.d.
"trouble brewing" has some very good highlights along the way that only george could master, plus some good songs as well.
these films are pretty hard to find now, so treasure them while you can.
