Trottie True,Excellent film.
Odeon Releasing have provided a nice Technicolor print.
Nice to see them releasing some of these great classics from the 1940's.
extras a few Trailers from the same era.
and a 4 page booklet about the film.
Highly Recommended.

"Trottie True" is a 1949 technicolour biritsh comedy revolving around the popular artist trottie true (Jean Kent) who catches the eye of Lord Digby Landon (James Donald), they marry, but can it last? given their very different backgrounds, families and so called firends? many other well known faces are to be spotted in this rarely seen film Lana Morris, Bill Owen, Christopher Lee, Hattie Jaques, Roger Moore and a host of others. a gentle comedy, very easy on the eye, lovely undemanding entertainmet. excellent value.

The new odeon release faetures a superb restored technicolor print. However it is such a pity that the same restoration attention was not paid to the soundtrack. Which is distorted and inaudiable at times. It would appear that too much noise limitation has been useed. As a result the spoken dialog becomes very difficault to uderstand and hear.
This is such a wonderful film it's a real shame a little more care was not taken with the transfer to DVD. This is the reason I have only given the DVD three stars. The film it self deserves five stars
