Product Description

After a nasty incident with a goat, the Troll family is forced to leave their native Norway and make a new home somewhere else. Unfortunately, they choose the quiet suburb of Biddlesden and move in next door to the Priddle family. Big mistake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Humorous Series, Very Roald Dahl 31 Jan 2012
Format:Paperback
My 6-year-old boy loves this series and so do I! The books are about a troll family forced to leave their stinksome cave in Norway and move to a disgustingly clean house in suburban Biddlesden due to the shame brought on to the family by Mr Egbert Troll, who was butted by a fiercesome billy goat. The stories are about how the trolls adjust to their new life living next door to the Priddles (the Piddles as 'Eggy' calls them) and their frequent scrapes. Great characters who are easily voiced while reading aloud. My son loves the silly words they use - very Roald Dahl. I hope others discover these books. A good follow-on if your child has enjoyed Horrid Henry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hols With Trolls 1 Aug 2009
Format:Paperback
My kids and I have only recently discovered the Trolls series and just love the books. They talk about a place called Biddlesden which is apparently 'something like Milton Keynes' (cf. Bloomsbury Profile on Alan MacDonald) but can really be any place anywhere where people are frightened of newcomers (who are "oh so different!"). It's great fun to read about the Troll troubles - and it makes us all think and thump and thrive.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great find! 26 Mar 2013
By J. M. Ricks - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
My son is 6 and we read books together every night. He reads me something on his level out loud to me, and I read to him more complex books. We just finished all of our Roald Dahl box set which he LOVED. This book (and the others in the series) I found at our local library and the title caught my eye. When I read the dust cover, I loved the premise: trolls move in next-door in an English suburb to the neighbors' dismay.

The book is an easy read, my son loves it. I am enjoying reading to him. It's funny, light-hearted and the illustrations are amusing. If you or your children like Roald Dahl or modern day fairy tales, this book is for you!
5.0 out of 5 stars Humorous, fun in the spirit of Roald Dahl 9 Jan 2014
By shebalizard - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This is wonderful independent read for kids age 7-9, or class read aloud with discussion or read aloud bedtime book for kids of all ages.
Storyline captivates your attention with such a creative premise. Just the right sprinkling of made up words adds an element of whimsy to put a smile on anyone's face!
Author's writing style lends itself to reading aloud to your kids with various dialects for the two main families,
to illustrate disparity between the characters.
Highly recommend this book. Look forward to more- a series would be an instant hit!
