Wow, what can I say, this belt has saved my back from breaking in two! My dog weighs in at 35kilos and used to pull her lead which I attached to my bum bag. My other dog who runs off the lead would lunge at the one on the lead pulling me off balance and putting a real strain on my back! Since purchasing this belt, I no longer get the sudden jerk when my dogs "collide", it appears to be more comfortable for my dog too due to the lead being elasticated it gives both her and myself more gentle movement. I can't praise it enough. The belt is good quality, the belt clip is strong and the metal clip that attaches the elastic lead is very secure, so no amount of pulling that my dog does do I feel that the clip will break. Top job!

Yes, if you are looking for a longish leash for training purposes or keeping your monster under control for short periods... this does the job. Comfortable to wear and comes with some handy extras that slip onto the belt, for those who like to 'go tooled up'.
Of course - you could just loop a long leash around your middle - but this item is tailor made for non- garrotting so 'tis ideal for training a young & Boisterous puppy/dog. The snap on belt and strong couplings seem up to the task and there's just a bit of a stretch in the belt & leash fabric, so if the dog takes off suddenly, one isn't dragged off - in the manner of hapless cowpoke hog tied to bolting horse by bad guys i.e., see cowboy films of the 50s for ref. - but one has time to brace oneself before bringing the little swine to heel. Obviously, the pulling will need to be addressed or else it'll take it's toll on the elasticated belt. I can't say I've tried jogging with the dog, but I can see that this would be fine, on the premise that you can keep up with the dog in question. (If the dog will insist on pulling... you will find it a most useful aid for getting up those particularly steep hills... not unlike walking on the moon I suspect - but I'm not sure that this would be entirely fair on the dog.)

This lead is just brilliant. Am training for a Moonwalk and it means I can walk the dog and train at the same time without having my shoulder pulled out of its socket. I have a fairly biddable spaniel - not too heavy and doesn't pull much, but when she does, the natural tug of the lead is enough to remind her not to. If there was any criticism, for me, the lead is a tiny bit too long, so if the dog is walking too close to heel, the lead could possibly get in the way, but it's very easy to gently pull my dog in if there's any traffic and the length isn't enough of a problem to mark it down a star.

Hi recently tried this with my small dog and its great but as a previous reviewer said if the dog pulls even a little the belt stretches too much and feels like it will fall off and thats on the tightest setting and i am not small! Belt needs to be much tighter elastication.

Dogs Ruffwear Flat Out Leash Dog Lead Green The anti pull lead is great, but the belt its self is not so great, to elasticated so when my husky pulls, the belt it's self is stretched to the point that you could fit another me inside!!! So overall its so-so maybe trixie should look at the belt its self.

This is the first review for a product bought from Amazon, and I'm taking the plunge as I know how important it is to us doggie walkers to keep taking them out when either a bad back or bad wrists (in my case) prevent us from walking 'normally!' So for the good points first - I bought this to walk my two Jack Russells and at first I had to play about with adapting it so that it was comfortable for two dogs. For walkies on the street I don't use the 'extendable' bit, and I can put the handle of their leads within the metal clip - find out what works for you! For longer 'outdoorsy' walks the principle is the same but with the longer attachment. I'm really pleased that I can still take them out! However, I wouldn't say that it is that comfortable to wear. The elastic 'doubles up' when walking so its like a thin belt, and I keep having to move it - not comfortable round the waist. That said, it isn't too uncomfortable to prevent use and I'm going to add some foam to it before I do a week long walking holiday with the little terrors! Worth a buy but needs adapting, probably a lot better for just one dog......

I have given only 4 stars because there is always room for improvement, and like others I agree the elasticity of the belt could perhaps be a little bit less giving. Yes when it stretched I could easily have fitted another one of me in it and I felt a bit silly, but it held my dog (a young boisterous rottweiler) without any discomfort to me. And I just couldn't stop laughing at first! And whether you are running or hill walking, you don't want something too tight that might restrict breathing, or suddenly jolt you off balance, so perhaps the designers knew what they were doing. It is definitely much kinder to my arms and my back.

I am moving to hill walking country soon and I think it will be perfect for longer walks, possibly on very slippery slopes, as I will be able to concentrate on keeping my balance even when my dog has to be on lead. And even getting in the house with a hands free lead is so much less fuss.

I would recommend this product, definitely worth a try to see if you like it too.
