decent hutch, factory quality control lacking

This is a decent hutch, big enough for one regular size bun or two dwarf. May not stand up to much winter weather due to light weight wood, probably best under a porch or in a barn during winter weather. I'll be a little surprised if this thing holds up during the life span of the bunnies.
Arrived with a lot of little nicks/dings/scratches. Shipping box was undamaged so this was minor factory damage. The pre-installed hinges on one of the roof panels had pulled off and all the screws were completely missing. A lot of holes that were supposed to be pre-drilled were non existent. All things that should have been easily caught and corrected before being shipped. Luckily there are a few handyman types in our house so we were easily able to do this ourselves. Otherwise it was easy enough to assemble.
Directions for adding the roof panel supports/hinges need to be clearer and again, no pre-drilled holes where they were supposed to be. You'll probably need a little drill to put this thing together!
Agree with other review that the upper level needs additional ventilation in warm climates, we cut out another window in ours.
So, decent hutch and not that hard to put together if you can handle some minor drilling.

Our new bunny loves his home. It was easy to put together and good quality. I really like the roof, which opens to make a thorough cleaning even easier. We had planned to use it outside but haven't been able to do that yet. Even so its a good house. If you live in a warmer climate, you might need to add more ventilation in the living area upstairs. It is easy for my 9 year old daughter to clean and spend time with her rabbit. Ours came with a metal latch in the front to keep both doors secure. The two doors downstairs make it easy to get to rabbit if you need to. We added a few tiles inside the main area of the cage for the rabbit to lay on and he really enjoys it.

Awesome shipping.. but seems a bit dangerous

First off, we ordered this hutch on March 31st, it said that it would come April 20-28th, imagine our surprise when it came before April 7th! That was pretty awesome. It was super easy to put together after we had a mini-heart attack thinking that the directions were in german! But there was english in smaller text underneath each direction. It had all the screws, I suggest an electric screwdriver though. We had a normal sized bunny to go in there. She loved it! She definitely went to work on chewing it up really fast, but her chewing didn't seem to hurt the overall sturdiness. We bought it to use indoors instead of outdoors. The hutch is pretty big but easy to clean. We put a tarp underneath it so she wouldn't rip up or soil our carpet. But anyways we had it for about three months when my husband came home one day and found our bunny dead at the foot of the ramp! We think she had one of what we call her "spaz attacks" where she jumps and runs in circles but we think she had one while on the ramp and then fell and broke her neck :( . We were really sad. Now we've paid $200 for a cage that we only got 3 months use out of.. We are actually usuing it now for our cats to store their cat bed and food and water. So I dont know if anyone else will have that problem or maybe we just had a bunny that didn't know any better.
Otherwise it was a great hutch and I'd use it again for bunnies.. I'd just wait until they're more than a year old to let them use it.
