When charismatic hustler Ruby Rose meets Mo -a Scarborough waitress on holiday in New Orleans - she offers to be Mo's guide on a road trip across America. That we all turn tricks and to deny this is to deny what we really want from life?

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb 28 July 2004
By Timbo
Format:Paperback
I first came across Trix (and Stephanie) at a reading she gave in a G&L bookshop in London. The passage she read was so funny, cool and well written that I bought a copy on the spot and read it immediately. It is, quite simply, superb. There's so much trash out there masquerading as fiction that this book, with its humour, pathos, love and human insight should be much more widely known. I won't spoil the plot (just think Tales of the City crossed with Tama Janowitz on acid, if you can) but this is a tale with a journey and a goal. Fantastic prose, great characterisation (I'd like to see more of these folk) and a heart the size of the ritz. Sexy, sassy, devourable.
