I too saw this on chanel 4 years ago and wished I had taped it. It takes you though the history of personal computing in terms that anybody can understand. I am amazed at how accidental some people founded their empires !!. I think bob Cringely has a good first persons view of these happenings. I would recommend that anybody with an interst in computing veiws this. I just wish that his follow up video was available "nerds 2.0.1" that charts the history of the internet ( i wish I'd taped this too !! )

Format:VHS Tape
As I work in IT this tape was a 'must buy' and I am glad I did. The history of how the PC market is what it is today is explained wonderfully by the very first pioneers of personal computing. Even more amazing is how comapnies like Apple, Microsoft, Compaq and Intel were founded some 20 odd years ago. Even if you are not into computers this is a must see. I agree with one of writers who said that there should be a follow up to this and yes it should be about Internet.

This is a couple of very entertaining tapes, which in a inspiring way documents the history of the PC, gives a picture of the development of the industry and the people who made it happen. This is done with many interviews and anecdotes. In Denmark where I live this subject has not yet reach the attention of the TV channels, so it was with great expectations that I bought this movie. I would also recommend reading the 'Accidental empires', which is the book version.

Warning: Don't watch it with your wife and kids, it is more likely that pizza, coke and a couple of techie friends can share the enjoyment with you. But watch out, once you turn it on, you can't stop until the end! Three hours strait! ...
