Product Description

Product Description

A gripping tale of sex, savagery and survival from the author of Seize the Day, Ann Allestree's acclaimed chronicles of 30 years of global wandering. Abandoned on the French Mediterranean island of Porquerolles, the wolf cub Louis-Loup is discovered by Madame Veuve, gardienne to the beautiful Comtesse de Beaucaire. Over one long hot Provençal summer, Louis grows in strength and stature as a domestic drama of island life - all the desires, suspicions, jealousies and human folly - unfold around him. When the Comtesse arrives at her summer villa with her Moroccan lover Uqba in tow, the scene is set. But the young wolf also has desires and needs and begins to hanker for independence and the call of the wild. In a growing climate of fear and suspicion, there is only one solution: to set young Louis on the road to freedom.
