‘TRIPLE AGENT’

The Word is out!

Despite relentless efforts by the military and civil authorities, the notorious Nazarene insurgent is once again at large. His supporters cunningly helped him escape his merited execution, and he is now said to be back in the north of the country reviving his rebellious ‘Kingdom’ movement. The Roman Military Governor, working in conjunction with the people's own Council Guards, is combing the country to arrest this dangerous rebel, together with his defiant followers.
A secret journal, which was kept by one of the Nazarene's closest disciples, is now being published under the title ‘Triple Agent’. This outrageous journal, originally begun as an account of a formal investigation by the Council into the activities of the subversive ‘Kingdom’ movement, has become an undercover account of deceitful duplicity in high places.
The author of the journal, seduced by the charisma of the movement's leader and blinded by the promise of power and riches, abandoned his allegiance to traditional values to follow the doctrines of the nefarious Nazarene. He uses a pseudonym to hide his criminal treachery and avoid detection and arrest. Any person knowing his real identity is urged immediately to make public this crucial information.

“Triple Agent” deals in a new and excitingly unorthodox way with the events leading up to, and culminating in, the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. It places the material squarely in the political and social context of the period. It is based upon, and closely follows, the Gospel According to John. The final chapter of this Gospel, states that it was written by the “Disciple Whom Jesus Loved”; In other words, an eyewitness of the events he describes. This claim, however, is rejected by most theologians, who believe that the Gospel was compiled by an anonymous Greek author some 60 or more years after the death of Jesus. Peter St John prefers to accept it as an eyewitness account.
The result is startling.
