EXCELLENT! 29 Jan 2009
Format:VHS Tape
THIS VIDEO HAS 3 SHORT STORIES BY SOMERSET MAUGHAM, AND INTRODUCED BY HIM!
THEY EACH HAVE SOME BRILLIANT 1950`S SCREEN STARS....
THE FIRST STORY IS " THE VERGER " WITH THE GREAT JAMES HAYTER AND KATHLEEN HARRISON .....
THE SECOND IS " MR. KNOWALL " WITH ANNE CRAWFORD....
THE THIRD IS " SANATORIUM " WHICH HAS A VERY YOUNG JEAN SIMMONS.
1950 BLACK & WHITE EXCELLENT FOR ALL MOVIE BUFFS!

Saw the original film about 60 years ago and seeing it again is a delight. Dialogue now sounds very stilted but that's how things were all those years ago. The three Maugham stories are most enjoyable and act as a reminder of the excellent storyteller Maugham was.

A pleasure to watch 23 July 2011
Format:DVD
I saw about five minutes of this film on Turner Classic Movies and knew I had to order a copy to own. It is a charming film from the 50s made with a wonderful British cast. Anyone who has seen Picwick Papers starring James Hayter and A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sims will recognize many of the actors appearing in Trio.
