5.0 out of 5 stars Writing to drool over 28 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
There's so much to say about Trinity that it's hard to know where to start.
For me the most enjoyable aspect was the actual writing style. Clare writes with the ability and style of any distinguised author - better than some of them I imagine. She cultivates her language in a way that is simply stunning. It's hard to believe this is an indie book and not one that's been snapped up by an agent or publisher. The concept is unique as well which makes it all the more interesting.

It's been a while since I've read a new fantasy writer to the point where I've stopped reading fantasy in the same way I used to. Clare's book has made me want to go out and find new work, rediscover writers in this genre as I (im)patiently wait for her next novel.

Definitely worth the money, worth the time to read, and worthy of the praise. A true gem.

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful light read 8 Aug 2012
Format:Paperback
If you want a book about centuries-old mass-murderers seducing high-schoolers, this isn't it.
If you want a book about four kids, a dog, and lashings of ginger beer getting into a scrape, this isn't it.
If you want a book about three teens coming to terms with sins of the fathers, forgiveness, and redemption, this is it.

This is a hugely rich world, with a truly engaging storyline. I read it cover to cover, only stopping because they threw me off the areoplane.
There is a massive sense of character progression and accomplishment in the book, this isn't the plodding start of an interminable multi-book pot-boiler.
It's a fast-paced roll across an epic civilisation, which grips you with a need to know how the situations get resolved, because it's not all smiles, love and tolerate.

Well worth the money, and time you'll spend reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Crafted World 15 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Let's start by saying that I don't normally write reviews. I picked this up for my Kindle and quickly become engrossed in the wonders of the story and the world Clare Davidson has created. The characters are very well thought out and they entice you into learning more about them and their history.

The story is perfectly written and wonderfully described as you move along at a solid pace.

This definitely has the makings of an epic fantasy series and I will eagerly await the second book.

This is a must investment for any fantasy reader especially for under £2.
