Trinity Blue [Kindle Edition]

I read Trinity Blue way back when it was part of the Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance. The one thing that stood out about the story even after all this time was its very appealing hero, Daemon, who is a compelling mix of dangerous and vulnerable as he fears his love will again be rejected, when his dark secret is discovered. So when I saw the eshort rereleased in an expanded form, I just couldn't resist doing a reread. I am happy to say that I liked Trinity Blue even better the second time around. Being memory challenged, I am not sure what was added but the story felt a bit more complete in this new form.

The product info story claims that Trinity Blue is loosely connected to Silver's now defunct (boo hoo) Compact of Sorceror's series, but it works just fine on its own.

As a fan of Eve Silver's books, Demon's Hunger and Demon's Kiss, I was thrilled to find that this short story has sorcerer ties!! It's a fast paced, steamy read from start to finish with characters that make you sad the story is just a short story.

This is a fantastic showing for Eve Silver! Hoping for more to come soon!

Trinity Blue is an outstanding short story. Usually a short story has to sacrifice something: plot density or character depth or world building. This does not.
The plot is tight and kept you turning the pages [even when it was WAY past time to sleep!]. The characters were engaging, people you'd really like to know. The chemistry between the hero and heroine sizzled.

Jen Cassaday is a lonely woman waiting for her life to begin. As a magical 'late-bloomer' she feels isolated from her family and as a sorcerer-to-be she feels isolated from humanity knowing she can never love someone who she will outlive. Enter Daemon Alexander, enigmatic handyman and drool-worthy hunk with a dangerous edge. If only he wasn't human...

Daemon has taken the job to help Jen restore her home while he attempts to find the evil danger he senses nearby. He tracked a demon to the area and then lost it - when the dismembered body of a woman is found in the nearby woods he knows it's still around. Despite his best efforts he finds himself falling for Jen. If only she wasn't human... The climactic confrontation between the demon, Jen, and Daemon reveals their hidden truths - he's not human [a truly interesting variation on the paranormal 'norm'], she's not human now that her sorcery has kicked in, and they both did a great job of kicking the demon back to hell.

Great paranormal action read with a very satisfying ending. The world Ms. Silver has created for the reader is fascinating-it is loosely related to the Compact of Sorcerers series.

Note: A version of Trinity Blue was published in The Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance. The author states she has 'revised and expanded that story' and it is now a stand alone e-read. It is soon available at multiple sites including Amazon and Smashwords.
