This book is compulsive reading for anyone who has ever felt that their family doesn't understand them.

From the very first page you are drawn into Harrys world, sharing her feelings of unease at what should be an ordinary family xmas, and when the three brothers appear you share her frustrations when her family wont belive her that the brothers are not quite what they seem.

This book will draw you in and not let you go untiil you finish it.

I picked this book up by chance at my local library, and was instantly gripped. The resentfulness mixed with love and admiration Ariadne feels for her sisters is mirrored in most families. The supernatural element is also not comletely alien-romance, or the absence of it is a universal feeling. I have reread this book many times since I bought it, and have never got bored of it. This is the type of book that you will keep for ever and pass onto all your freinds, children and relatives until your copy is so dogeared you need to buy a new one! A must read.

I happened upon this and found it a most page turning read: it's very well written, the family characters are real and complex, the sense of place is excellent and makes me want to go back to New Zealand and the mysterious plot is compelling and really keeps you guessing.
