SICK PUPPIES
Shimon Moore – vocals, guitar
Emma Anzai – bass
Mark Goodwin – drums

Sick Puppies don’t do things halfway, not when they’re playing live in front of their rabid fans, nor when they tackled Tri-Polar, their second major label album for RMR/Virgin/EMI and follow-up to Dressed Up As Life.

When the Australian band decided to break ... Read more in Amazon's Sick Puppies Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 17 Feb 2011
Format:MP3 Download|Verified Purchase
Having got introduced to the Sick Puppies initially, like many people, via the "Free Hugs" youTube video ("All The Same" background track) I absolutely loved their first album and had high hopes, but low expectations, for this, their second. Low expectations as bands often use up all of their great songs that they have spent many years developing, on their first album, then rush out another 10 songs in a year for their second.
However, this album is great. Probably a bit heavier than the first, and took me a few listens to really get into it, but, as with the first, there are some classic tracks on here and very little 'padding'. Both albums have some of the best production that I have ever heard on a rock album - clear vocals and powerful bass, a crisp sound that in my view really adds to the songs' impact.
Lyrics are pretty good - they will never be in a league with Dylan, Floyd etc, but they are certainly much more powerful lyrics than most bands around (that I am aware of) at the moment.
If you know Sick Puppies and like their first album, buy this one, listen a few times and you'll love it. If you like this album, buy their first one (Dressed Up As A Life). If you don't know Sick Puppies and are wondering if you'll like it, well, if you like Green Day, Foo Fighters, Nirvana etc, you'll love it. They are definitely not clones of those bands, however, they have their own style and bring it off well. I reckon these guys will be big...

5.0 out of 5 stars Top album from promising new group 3 Dec 2010
Format:Audio CD
Got Tri-Polar after reading all about this group of Aussie rockers moved to the US.

I checked on You Tube and what I heard I was very impressed with so bought it.

I would just like to say I am suprised by a new band creating a classic monster of an album full of great songs great riffs and some great lyrics too.

I don't want to compare them to anyone as that would be unfair on the group suffice to say it is a brilliant collection of great songs, a true rockers album, and I would hope they will be out on tour so that everyone gets the chance to witness a truly Great band.

It has no best or stand out tracks they are all brilliant can't stop playing it now.

I heard a track of theirs on a t.v. programme. Investigated them on the www and purchased this cd. Its kind of middle heavy rock. bit of swearing in it but not too bad. Impressed with this group.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure brilliance! 19 Jan 2014
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Sick Puppies is one of those small bands that people might overlook but they release a brilliant variety of music from the harder stuff that gets your blood pumping and the smooth thought provoking stuff to the controversial. Tri-polar is sick puppies at their very best and i would recommend this album to absolutely anyone with a interest in alt-rock and if you are going to spend your money get the explicit version it's worth it also worth note some brilliant unplugged bonus tracks
