Format:Spiral-bound
This book was recommended to me by my teacher who studied at the Royal College of Music. She said she had used these books throughout her degree and had dramatically improved her quality of playing. I've been working through the articulation section since purchasing this book and has made a tremendous difference! I would recommend this series of books to anyone who is either attending a Music College or serious about improving their quality of playing from Grade 7/8 upwards. I wish I had this book when I was learning the double-tonguing passage in the Poulenc Sonata!!

I haven't seen this particular collection but used the Wye books when they first came out decades ago. As has already been flagged, they will be of little use to a beginner but would prove extremely valuable for someone who has played for several years or for a more experienced musician transferring from another instrument.
I would say that the more serious you are about really mastering the flute, the more valuable these books will be. I learned a lot from them, not only about playing the flute but also about practising generally, which is equally applicable to other instruments.

Format:Spiral-bound
This is an excellent reference work written by an expert. Grade 5 +. It is fairly advanced but inspirational to take you beyond the basics. It is designed so that you can dip into it and concentrate on the weaker part of your playing.

useful book
i've found this book quite good, it has exercises from a variety of great flutists like moyse and taffanel, but if you follow the exercises you will have a steady progress
