Reminiscent in structure and approach to Frank's The Americans, Parke and his partner spent 2 years on the road, photographing his native Australia. Shooting in black and white (he switched to colour at the end of this trip), Parke is a master of light and an inspiration to anyone who picks up a camera and wants to use it to communicate. The book is a slim volume, but tightly edited to create a poetic narrative that digs into the mind of Parke, the soul of Australia, and still leaves space for the viewer to contemplate the photographic beauty of this work. A must own.

Simply wow! I can't remember the last time I was this enthralled and moved by a photo essay...possibly Haas' 'The Creation'... Each page is a revelation. I can't say much more because it's rendered me rather speechless. It's beautiful, raw, tender and thought provoking. A book I'll treasure always.

In any frame of the air and meaningful beauty. One of the most popular photographers. Already in the same row with Mario Giacomelli for me.
