The episodes comprise: 'Knock With Me - Rock With Me', 'Saints', 'Me Donkey Want Water', 'The Greatest Love', 'I Thought I Heard Buddy Bolden Say', 'Careless Love', 'Promised Land', 'Don't You Leave Me Here', 'Poor Man's Paradise' and 'Tipitina'.

Synopsis

New Orleans, 25 months later. Crime and corruption are up, culture is being trampled, and the people who matter – the workers, families and dreamers who still live here – have had enough. HBO's drama series Treme revisits the musicians, chefs, Mardi Gras Indians, and other familiar New Orleans characters who continue to rebuild their lives, their homes and their culture in the aftermath of the 2005 hurricane that caused the near-death of an American city. In Season 3, which takes place from Fall 2007-Spring 2008, rampant crime and government ineptitude continue to cripple the city's recovery, with outside profiteers looking to cash in on short-term gains. The series' focus is still on ordinary people, but they no longer accept their lack of influence on the institutions that have controlled the city. Diminished by grief and loss, but fed up with incompetence and graft among police and city officials, the characters in Treme begin to make inroads in demanding that their music, art and well-being be protected. Through a murder prosecution that unites several players, Treme will also explore the city's handling of justice, schools and politics, while charting the inspiring, grassroots efforts to preserve the individuality of this most iconic of American cities.

after what was for me a slightly hit and miss season 2, i stuck with it which is worth doing for the music alone, season 3 really hits its stride. ifound the characters totally absorbing and the plot lines are genuinely moving.

I like the way the story progresses slowly. The characters are well rounded and real and there are some great performances. Worth spending time getting into this series

wonderful series, the theme tune always has me bopping 'round the room.David Simon has created something really special here,as he did with The Wire (Wendell Pierce and Clark Peters from there). The situation after Katrina is very skilfully observed here, the music customs, traditions and food that you can almost smell had me hooked from season 1

Because it was as excellent as the last 2 seasons.
I watched it in the first season to see Clark Peters, a great actor.
What a disgrace on America that all these years later, people can still not go home.
AND the music is stunning.

New Orleans after Katrina. A wonderful wonderful series. The best since The Wire.

There's real empathy with the totally believable characters and their struggle to make the best of their lives
in the face of the destruction created by, not only Katrina, but also the incompetent and corrupt authorities.
It's a fascinating portrait of New Orleans itself, and its unique and marvelous musical history which binds it's
residents together, and gives them a real love and loyalty to their city in the face of all it's awful problems.

And apart from all that... it's beautifully written, acted, edited and produced. And the music is great.

Like 1 & 2 tells a harsh political tale with subtlety, through the lives of the characters and above all through the music.
