Product Description

These superb trekking poles are made from lightweight 6061 aluminium alloy and weigh just 300g per pole. They feature comfortable, moulded handles and adjustable wrist straps.

With three sections, they can be fully extended from 65 to 135cm, to suit your height and the gradient. This also means they telescope neatly away when not in use.

There's an extra anti-shock facility, which can be turned on or off. This is particularly useful when descending steep hills, or to save elbow strain.

They have removable snow baskets, which can be attached near the base of the pole and are designed to prevent sinkage in soft ground or snow. At the end of each pole there are sturdy, hard tungsten alloy trekking tips for mountain use, and removable rubber ferules for easy ground.

Bad news/good news!. 12 July 2010
If you are looking for strong reliable walking poles, these are not for you. Within five miles of starting to use mine, the telescopic sections would not close, and the joints were becoming flexible (they are made of thinner metal tubing than the Austrian ones I had before). Not a good investment.

I'd like to eat my words!. It is now several months - and about 100 miles - later, and my opinion has changed. Since getting good advice on not tightening the sections too far, both sticks have worked perfectly, and I cannot think of a better £15 that I have spent this year. Apologies all round. Cheers, James.Pair of Trekrite Hiking / Walking Poles - Silver

good products for a good price. Very helpful when hill walking and certainly helps to take the strain off the knees. Have taken them on some hardy walks up and down the highest peaks in Britain and they haven't let me down.

I bought these for an elderly relative who has mobility issues. She was delighted with them and has said she feels much safer when walking with 2. She is also very pleased that she can let go and not drop them whilst shopping etc as the wrist strap secures them, saving her the inconvenience of having to bend down to retrieve them!
