5.0 out of 5 stars It worked for me., 12 Dec 2009

Treat Your Own Back was bought for me 9 years ago when I had severe low back pain. For about 4 weeks I had tried physiotherapy without success but within a few days of doing the exercises recommended in this book there was a decrease in the pain and after 2 weeks I was back at work. Since then I have practised what I learnt from this book on several occasions when warning twinges started and in no time at all I was cured. I thoroughly recommend this book which deals with all aspects of the cause of low back pain and how to avoid it. It contains lots of pictures, is well written and an enjoyable read. When I lend books they tend not to be returned, so I am keeping my copy and buying a new one for a friend who is suffering at the moment.

5.0 out of 5 stars This works!, 12 Feb 2009
This review is from: Treat Your Own Back (Paperback)
I had been suffering withe terrible back pains for two years before I read this book. I had seen three top consultants who couldn't give me a proper diagnosis. I had really bad posture, so this should have given them some idea. I spent a lot of money on Chiropractors and a few other quacks.
When a physio suggested that I try the exercises in this book I felt let down. They seemed too simplistic, how could this have the answer when the top medical people didn't? I tried it because there was nothing else to try and I was getting pretty depressed. After only two days of doing two of the exercises, my pain had really decreased and in about a week ALL pain had gone! I still get some back pain but now I know what to do. I know that I had a bulging disc in my lower back and this helped push that back in. You MUST do the exercises about five times a day!
I have not been paid to write this,(look at my other reviews)and know that a great many people with poor postural habits will benefit immensely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book and method, 21 Nov 2010

Having suffered from back problems over many years and visited many different alternative practitioners with varying degrees of success I found this a really useful book. It is well written book with clear instructions and photographs to show what are the problems and how to recover from them. It clearly shows how the exercises should be performed and how often. Really refreshing to find an approach that puts the patient in charge of their own recovery from back problems and gives different treatment routes depending on severity and recovery process. Highly recommended
