1.0 out of 5 stars The money pit 21 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase
The best description for that lousy and incoherent publication is diasapointment. Nothing new - same old stories, same old pictures and strange Gimmicks, copied from former magazines. I don't know what the author had in mind other than making some money with it. The title of the book should not read "The Treasures of Pink Floyd" but "Refried Trash of Pink Floyd". Sorry for the hard words.

1.0 out of 5 stars the treasures of pink floyd 2 Jun 2013
This man (Povey) can obviously only get his name onto something worthwhile if someone else does the work (i.e Ian Russell). This book is just reconstituted rubbish that everyone else left behind as 'old news' years ago. The author is just trying to rip-off the genuine fan, in the name of an established product. Total rubbish - I doubt he could actually produce an interesting letter on his own, let alone a book!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete waste of money! 7 Feb 2013

I can only assume that Glenn Povey needed the money. This book is so pedestrian it's untrue!!! After some good work in the past the author has come up with one of the most uninteresting books on the Floyd I have read... And when I bought it, it was £17.50. To be honest if you're looking for anything new or interesting this one is worth about 75 pence...... It's basically a history of the band told with absolutely no new info. Just stuff you would have read 1000 times before. There appears to have been no research on this book at all, it just contains the stories and facts everyone who knows even the most basic history of the band will have heard so many times before.....
Just a book trying to earn some cash by having the name 'Pink Floyd' in title... And therefore cashing in on mugs like me who buy such books without reading any reviews first. As for the ridiculous bits of supposed memorabilia stuffed in the 'pockets'.... Just type 'pink floyd memorabilia' into google (like the author probably did) and just print it off for free........ Total waste of money.

1.0 out of 5 stars no clue - absolutely redundant 20 Nov 2012

I have no clue what Mr. Povey had in mind, when he put that selection together. No clear concept, no quality writing, simply redundant information. The gimmicks belong to magazines as 'Yps' in the 80th,..for 12 year olds...
Very disappointing after the great book that Ian Russell put together with him.

5.0 out of 5 stars For Floyd fans 20 Mar 2013
By Dave

There is not much to this in pages, but it is so well made, Floyd fans will love to own it with it selection of tickets and posters from the past, plus stories behind the songs. So if you can get this at the reduced price, then it is worth a look!
