This fifty-five minute DVD seems to date from the 1990s. It covers eight National Trust properties: 1. Kingston Lacy (Dorset); 2. St Michael's Mount (Cornwall); 3. Tatton Park (Cheshire); 4. Fountains Abbey (Yorkshire); 5. Powis Castle (Wales); 6. Stourhead (Wiltshire); 7. Chartwell (Kent); and 8. Polesden Lacey (Surrey). Note the focus on the southern counties of England. But some associated properties are also featured. Thus Kingston Lacy also include Corfe Castle, and Fountains Abbey also has room for Fountains Hall and Studley Royal.
Narrated by actor Robert Hardy, fifty-five minutes can only provide an introduction to these properties, but we see enough of the interiors with their paintings and furnishings to give us a flavour of each place. Gardens are also included, of course. It's all professionally shot and edited if a little bland, but has its place as a souvenir of places visited in the past or as inspiration for somewhere to visit in the future.
