Product Description

A CLIVE CUSSLER CLASSIC On behalf of a grateful nation I wish to thank you for this astonishing gift!' The President of the United States had reason to be grateful. Dirk Pitt had unearthed the greatest storehouse of knowledge in the ancient world: the Alexandria Library. The trail began in a lonely fjord in Greenland. It ended on the banks of the Rio Grande. In between Pitt had frustrated an assassination, rescued a hijacked liner, survived a deadly gun battle and halted an invasion. A gripping, action-packed story by a master of the craft.

4.0 out of 5 stars A gem amongst thrillers 20 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback
Treasure's protagonist is again the indestructible, larger-than-life, and incurable Casanova, Dirk Pitt. This time he is on the search for treasures from the ancient Library of Alexandra. And these treasures are to be found in a place where nobody would expect them to be! While searching for the treasure, Dirk has to contend with hardened international criminals, terrorists and other unsavory characters. Dirk's own father is taken hostage in a conspiracy to take control of Egypt and Mexico and Dirk has to rescue him and some other world-influential people out of the situation. The novel is a real page-turner filled with over-the-top action, adventure and suspense and I would think the best of Clive Cussler's books that I have read thus far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Treasure by Clive Cussler 8 Aug 2006
Format:Paperback
This book is faithful to the title it is beyond doubt a Treasure, from the very start it had me on the edge of my seat, and is one of the best of Clive Cusslers books, as a dedicated fan of Dirk Pitt, i thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, i only wish that the story was actually true, from the point of the vast knowledge that was lost when the library at Alexandria was destroyed, it would have been wonderful beyond words for some of it to have been saved, although as it says in the book the Texans would have been unbearable to live with if it had been found in their state.

Format:Paperback
Of all the Dirk Pitt adventures this has to be classed as the best. From the opening passage until the finale, I became immersed in the storyline and the fates of the characters that were expertly portrayed by Clive Cussler. This is the first Clive Cussler novel that I ever read, and although the other novels are excellent, none quite captivated me as this one did.

3.0 out of 5 stars Long, slightly confused but enjoyable.
Treasure is the second Cussler novel I have read. At exactly 600 pages it's not a short read and it is split into two stories. Read more
