This is a very enlighting book, but then again it is from the pen of Nigel Tranter, who is the master on the history of Scotland. This is all a new venture for me, I am 68 and only been on line for just over a year, but just realizing what I have been been missing. I am an ardvent Nigel Tranter, reader, this is a book I had been looking for, for some time, if you like Nigel Tranter, this is a book you must have, on the other hand if you just want to read about Scotland, this is a good one to get.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tranter quality 17 Sep 2009
By Linda Carmen - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
What I love about every Tranter book is the research and thought he puts into his work. I really enjoyed this book and learned a lot from it, not only about the life of Robert the Bruce, but about the history and landscape of Scotland, how it's changed from medieval times, and how Bruce both used it, and was influenced by it.
