About the Author
Dr Ray Laurence is a Research Fellow and Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham's Institute of Archaeology and Antiquity. He specialises in: the Roman city; human ageing and the life course in the Roman Empire; Roads and the landscape of the Roman Empire; and tourism and the classical tradition.
