Great rock album 23 Mar 2007
By IPJ
Format:Audio CD
I saw Danny Vaughn live backing Journey playing most of the song on these sets in an acoustic duet - the guy was electric and this is an excellent rock album. If you like driving rock you'll love this and if you get a chance to catch him live, do so.

I have to admit to being a huge fan of Danny Vaughn ever since I first saw Tyketto live. His two solo albums (Fearless and Soldiers and Sailors by the Riverside) were stunning examples of rock written from the heart, with excellent musicianship, and I was eagerly anticipating the release of the new cd. I have played the new cd about a dozen times and there is something missing, but I struggling to put my finger on what it is. It may be that it was recorded in the UK (does this really make a difference??), or it could be that it is with a brand new band (no disrespect to the, they are excellent). Don't however let me put you off - if you like Tyketto or Danny's earlier stuff, this is probably still for you.

Solid effort from melodic rock legend 21 Feb 2007
By Matthew Gordon - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Danny Vaughn has always pumped out great melodic hard rock whether it be via Tyketto, Vaughn, or the From the Inside project to name a few. This release is no exception. After listening to the first seven tracks I was ready to label this album an instant classic, as it is just one outstanding tune after another. But I did think the album lost a little steam over the last five tracks, hence the four rating.

If you are a fan of any of Danny's previous releases, you will definitely be happy with this one. Nothing really groundbreaking, just quality melodic rock tunes delivered with Vaughn's signature style and sound. Vaughn's vocals on this album are as good as any release he has ever done. Where it falls slightly short in my opinion is in the guitar work. Just doesn't have that power and sound that takes the songs to another level. I would rate this album slightly better than "Soldiers & Sailors" but not quite to the level of "Fearless", which remains my favorite among his post-Tyketto work.

Another quality Danny Vaughn album 21 Mar 2009
By Justin Gaines - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
2007's Traveller is the third full-length solo album from former Tyketto (and current From the Inside) frontman Danny Vaughn. Less hook-heavy than his Tyketto and From the Inside work, Vaughn's solo material is more personal, and blurs the line between AOR/melodic rock and an almost country sound.

You get the sense that these Vaughn/Danny Vaughn albums are where the man gets out all of the experimentation that he can't quite get away with on a Tyketto or From the Inside album. He can do near country songs like "Restless Blood" and "The Measure of a Man", spiritually-minded songs like "Miracle Days" and "Death of the Tiger", or straightforward ballads like "The Touch of Your Hand", and it all sounds good. Vaughn's powerful and emotional voice is in top form throughout the album, no matter what kind of song he's singing, and his supporting players do a great job as well. I don't think there's anything here that screams out to be included on a "greatest hits" disc, but overall Traveller is a very solid album, and one just about any Danny Vaughn fan should enjoy.

Traveller is another high quality melodic rock album from a vocalist who can pretty much do no wrong. It's not as memorable as his classic Tyketto work, and it lacks the energy of From the Inside, but even an average Danny Vaughn album is still going to be better than just about anything else out there.
Very impressive melodic rock effort. 12 Jan 2008
By Seba - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I didn't know much about Danny Vaughn, or Tyketto for that matter. Sure, I had read about them in magazines or in the web over the years. But I had never really given these guys a shot. If you're in a similar situation, and you're a hard rock/AOR fan, please help yourself out of such a big mistake! I bought both Tyketto's Strenght in Numbers and D.V.'s Traveller at the same time, and I'm quite impressed by both albums. I had listened to Vaughn a bit, through his guest appearances in Gary Hughes' Once and Future King, Richi Zito's Avalon, and in the melodicrock.com CD (vol. 3) where Danny sings a song co-written with a guy Mike Tharin. Those pieces started my interest in the guy. Back to the Traveller CD, it's a very strong melodic rock effort. It doesn't rock quite in the same way Tyketto did (it's not an issue of loudness or harshness...it's just that the guitars sound a bit different), but the quality is clearly there. The guy has an incredible voice, and he know how to put it to great use. Favorites: Miracle Days, Traveller, Restless Blood, The Warrior Way.

And, if you read a small paragraph in the Thank You's part of the booklet, you'll find out that these guys have the right attitude. A solid effort, worth spending your money on.
