Product Description

Product Description

On a bitter January night twenty years ago, Beverly Moon disappeared from the home she shared with her husband and daughter in the idyllic river town of Fairmont, Pennsylvania. When present-day writer/bartender Will Jameson gets wind of the story he unwittingly returns it to the front page of the local newspaper and sets a maelstrom in motion that won't come to rest until not one, but two mysteries are unraveled. With "Traveling Clothes," Bill Deasy builds upon the promise of his award-winning debut, "Ransom Seaborn," and establishes himself as a fresh new voice in American literature.

Sophmore release even better than the first! 28 Oct 2009
By Picky Reader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
It is always so disappointing when you find a new author who has written a fantastic book and then after waiting anxiously for more of their work, you find that they only had one in them. Not so with Bill Deasy. This book is even more compelling than Ransom Seaborn. From the first paragraph he starts weaving a web involving the characters of Fairmont that is so engrossing, you can not put the book down until you know what happens to them. And even after you finish, they were so real, they linger. While their stories are complete, you want more. And thankfully, Deasy has proven that he does have more! I can not wait for the next, and the next, and the next...!
Traveling Clothes 30 Nov 2009

I just finished reading the second book by this talented author and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pages turned easily and the story came to life off the pages. I look forward to many more stories from Bill.
Deliciously dark 10 Nov 2009
By Leslie - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Like Picky Reader said above, you never know if a second novel can live up to a brilliant first, but Bill Deasy has outdone himself with Traveling Clothes. While the tone of Ransom was dark yet hopeful in its unfolding of the experiences of youth, Traveling Clothes is a different kind of dark... the kind that Bill Deasy does best. You can see a little of yourself in each of his characters, even if they are the parts you might not want to see. The constantly shifting scenes demand that you stay awake and aware, and it's one of the first novels I've ever felt enveloped by... you don't read the story as much as it pulls you along. You'll be confused and surprised and seduced and elated, and you'll never see it all coming. Which is the genius of Bill's writing! Highly recommended for anyone who loved Ransom Seaborn, or anyone who is in the mood for a delicious escape from the ordinary novel.
