Wormhole 2???, 18 Jun 2009
I'm not gonna waste your time on this review - this album is a straight banger, from start to finish. Probably the best dark D&B album in the last 10 years.
It's also a true spiritual successor to Wormhole as well, and that can only be a good thing, right?
Highlights include "G-Force Jesus", "Snaggletooth" and "Titanium", although there's not a bad track on the album.
But it immediately and play it LOUD. It's dirty, and your neighbours will hate it.

Quality all the way!, 16 Nov 2009
Around '94 - '95 I was listening to Doc Scott, Randall, Micky Finn, Grooverider etc, but then got into hip-hop and metal for ages. In 2006 I listened to a copy of Nightlife (that I was given in 2003 and liked, but didn't listen to much). I don't know what it was, maybe my headphones or something but from that moment on I've been fully hooked on Drum & Bass!
Since then I've been keeping up with the genre, reading all the reviews I can find for albums/ mixes online. And I've become a bit of a collector buying as many quality/ rare discs as possible. I now have over 100 (I'd have bought far more! but I have 2 kids and am trying to save and my Mrs has slowed down my habit..) I have stuff off Virus, Ram, Subtitles, Human Imprint, Moving Shadow, Renegade Hardware, Hospital, Metalheadz, Good Looking, Drum and Bass Arena, etc but am mostly into tech-step and the dark side!
My favourite albums are: Clockwork (Stakka/ Skynet), Chronology (Dom and Roland) and Wormhole (Ed Rush & Optical).
When I see people selling these I think "what?!", as I'm sure I'll never get bored of DnB. And even if I do I'll keep them for the memory! At the moment things are pretty tough for me but DnB always ensures that I have a huge grin on my face while I'm out and about - which is well worth the cash! It seems that DnB really is divided these days with "liquid" fans slating the "hard" stuff and visa versa. But I'm into all styles - providing it's well put together, has wicked beats & bass, and makes me wanna jump about!
I'm not so into vocals as it starts to get a bit cheesy but certain producers can pull it off (Calibre, Teebee).
Travel the Galaxy as a whole is just quality from start to finish! And to think that these guys have been at it for so long (Wormhole was 1998) deserves respect! T.T.G is bangin', "jump up" and funky, but at the same time dark and sinister in places - and without a hint of monotony. Ed Rush & Optical have produced an awesome modern DnB album, exactly how it should be! And there isn't a bad track on it IMO. There could be the criticism that there's little variation in tempo between tracks, but the sheer excellence of production and execution more than compensates. It's hard to get bored when it's this damn good?!
So basically, if you're after a "proper" stomper of a DnB album.... then look no further cause it's all here - '09 style.
And stay the hell away from Pendulum, who once a DnB outfit, have now resorted to making lame pop music,
and disrespecting drum & bass in interviews!
If you're just starting out then stick with those mentioned above plus: Noisia, Black Sun Empire, Marcus Intalex, Omni Trio, and you can't go wrong.

Dark Drum'n'Bass, 17 May 2009
If you like youre drum and bass dark, hard and fast - this is great. Download something like snaggletooth in full and play it on a good pair of headphones or speakers. Very good. Listening on tiny PC speakers doesn't do this album justice.
