Product Description

Review

"This is an edited collection of chapters on assessment and treatment of PTSD written by London -based counselors who have extensive experience with victims of trauma.
The editor hopes to provide a book that addresses more than cognitive and verbal practice in working with clients with PTSD with the aim of integrating mind, body, and spirit.
Based on the topic, the book seems dircted to a mixed audience, ranging from those who provide immediate debriefing and assessment of trauma victims to those who do more long-term therapy.
One of the most contributions of this book is its concerns and directives about what not to do to the client, with a primary focus on re-establishing trust and connection for the person for whom this has been lost Examples of careful pracing help illustrate this message."

An excellent book that anyone dealing with trauma should have on their shelves. The experiences and thoughts of people are superbly brought together to give you an indepth overview.
With the after effects of September 11th and other traumatic events in the UK (including numerous rail disasters) there has never been a more poignant time for this book.
A must for anyone working in a trauma related industry.
