4.0 out of 5 stars No holds barred look at what Emergency Services job entails., 30 Mar 2000
By A Customer
Sometimes graphic in detail, or very witty, at other times very sad. This author brings out the best and the worst in traumatic incidents he has encountered over his 30 years within the Emergency services. David Bennett uses his experience as a top expert in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to good effect in this book. It is written for people in this field. Yet it is also an insight for people who have suffered traumatic incidents in their own lives previously. It is written in simple terms for everyone to understand. If bigger words are found, they are explained to the layman. I found it fascinating.

5.0 out of 5 stars The antidote for my PTSD, 5 April 2003
By
Ann Stevens (Greater London.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Trauma 999 Emergency (Paperback)
Having learnt about this Book, and that it was ABOUT PTSD. I managed to purchase a copy. What a surprise!. Not only did I not wish to put the book down, but I was hooked on it. The content is very true and accurate dealing in a humane way concerning PTSD. David Bennett comes across a very sincere individual, and dare I say it knows totally his subject. I found myself the manner incidents are described, reactions that surface and explanations given is the ONLY book I have read that gets this across properly. I would truly recommend this book to any individual diagnosed with PTSD, if you wish to make any sense of your illness. The author I contacted, for advise from the address listed in the book, once again he doesn't let one down. His advise and help was to me the lifeline I was seeking.
Thank you Amazon. Ann Stevens.

5.0 out of 5 stars An incredibly genuine man - writing from the heart!, 16 Jun 2001
This review is from: Trauma 999 Emergency (Paperback)
I read this book, during my research about PTSD. I had already read a couple of books and was looking for a less clinical or text-book view on the subject. It was a most pleasant surprise to find that not only does Mr Bennett talk at length about his own personal experiences in some truly traumatic situations, he goes on to give excellent advice for both sufferers and services staff alike.
