Computers Do Blunder, 29 July 2010
This review is from: Trash House [DVD] (DVD)
Five strangers are brought together after being picked as the most balanced applicants for a revolutionary experiment. All they have to do is agree to have a small microchip implanted in the backs of their necks, an implant that will give them complete control of their surroundings, with the ability to create and mould their surroundings whilst the implant is linked to a computer. Agent Allen(Cy Henty) tells them that all they have to do is spend some time in a secure environment, in this case a shuttered house, in order to carry out their virtual experiment. The reward for doing this, a rather nice 100,000 pound paycheck once the experiment is completed. It all sounds too good to be true, and it is, as one of the party of five isn't quite so balanced, showing psychpathic tendancies and taking control of the experiment to their own twisted ends. Soon the experiment turns into a battle for survival in a house where absolutely anything can happen.
I bought this after watching Higgins' more recent horror film 'Hellbride' and enjoying it immensely. This is very low budget, but very high on ideas. It's incredibly imaginative and Higgins shows a real visual flair, despite the use of some really dodgy CGI. The scenes where the individual subjects engage in their own private fantasies are very entertaining, especially when events take a turn for the worse. I also loved the idea that the psychopath creates a flesh and blood person out of a memory only to find the object of lust disobeying them. The acting is very adequate with Henty again stealing the honours, just as he did in Hellbride.
If you can look beyond the limits the lack of budget have placed upon this film, and see a film of enormous creative potential and interesting concepts, then I would recommend this film to you. It's nice to see the spirit of the B-movie is strong, especially in the U.K. 4 out of 5

IT HAS IT'S MOMENTS, 8 May 2011
This is by far one of the better cheaply made horror movies, but no,it isn't brilliant, not in my opinion anyway.
So these young people are offered money to stay in this house for a while, have this chip put into them, and think about whatever they would like to have for the duration of their stay for limited hours, and of course they get it all. They choose money, power, sex, knowledge etc... and it does have an interesting point that if we were given freedom to conjure up whatever we desired would it all go a bit wrong, indeed it does.
There were several moments in this film i did like, some of the one-liners made me laugh and the gore is well done for a cheap movie.
It is a great pity most of the acting is really bad, because that does take away from the enjoyment of the film.
However, all this said,i expected to hate this movie(but it was cheap,so i got it),and so i was surprised that even though i have now sold this movie on,i did enjoy some of it. All in all,i would say it's worth getting for a watch, but i wouldn't go spending too much on it,as some people have stated how much they hate this movie, and i can kind of see why. I didn't hate it,i just didn't think it was anything great, but as i say, some good moments.

"One damn cool movie", 24 Feb 2006
By A Customer
I really enjoyed this film though I didn't expect to. It's very low budget, and that usually puts me off. But they get round that in entertaining ways, the screenplay is great, a really original idea with lots of laughs and towards the end in particular some really scary bits - the film gets better as it goes on. The quote on the box is "one damn cool movie" and I think that's about right. Try it - you might like it.
