A good recovery 15 Mar 2010
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Well after reading the tripe that was Firefight I was hoping for a better effort from this book and I was not disappointed. Although it felt a little bit rushed in places - which I guess is to be expected when having to condense a plot into such a limited number of pages - the story was much better. It was well paced, action packed and actually quite enthralling. Alex Wheeler has got the main characters' personalities down to a tee and seems to find the right balance of Star Wars humour in all the right places.

The main part of the book involving Div's attempts to deceive X-7 was the part I felt was rushed as it flicked from scene to scene and I really had to pay attention. I felt this could have been written better but other than that the book was very entertaining. The ending was good and left me eagerly anticipating the next instalment from the series.

The other thing I liked about the book was getting a bit more back-story to what happened to the characters from the Last of the Jedi series. I got the distinct impression that could well be another series we see published by Scholastic at some stage...

So anyway, I say hats off to Ms Wheeler for recovering from a poor effort to bounce back with such an entertaining read.

Characters from earlier series make a feature appearance as major characters! 9 Jan 2010
By Baltimore-RomReader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Continuing the development of Luke Skywalker and his jedi skills and the reemergence of characters from previous young adult Star Wars series. You want to look up the list of Star Wars books on wikipedia and read the Jude Watson novels starting with the Jedi Apprentice series. Highly recommend reading them first, as you will enjoy this book a lot more. Luke was just one of several major characters in this book, you'll want to know who the other folks are... I gave this an average review, as the book did not stand out - was interesting to see planet Bellasan and the earlier characters. The particular mission in this book did not seem worth the risks and looked under-resourced, enjoyed the non-mission related interactions.

Star Wars Rebel Force: Trapped 28 Feb 2010

I really enjoyed this book. Being a fan of the Jedi Quest, Last of the Jedi series; it was really exciting to see the return of Ferus Olin in the Classic Star Wars timeline. The overall story is very interesting and shows how all supporting characters aid in Luke Skywalkers development. Ever wonder where Luke learned the lightsaber skills that he had in The Empire Strikes back? Ever wonder who was secretly aiding Luke in surviving many of his early missions? All of these questions are answered in this book. I can't wait until book 6, Uprising is out.Rebel Force #5 (Star Wars)
Awesome!!!!!!!!! 3 Feb 2010

My ten year old son has loved this series. He is a huge Star wars fan and suggests that you read the other books in this series prior to reading this one. This one is just as good as the last one.
