This should be essential Christmas viewing. Like many festive favourites it's not actually a brilliant film. It just has a certain something. It's the story of the rehabilitation of three rogues who rob the town bank and then fail to escape the town boundaries for various reasons. The longer they're in the town, the more kindly folk they meet and the more disposed to good they become. It could have been corny but it manages to escape that trap. Definitely one for the Christmas shelf in your DVD cabinet.

I had this bought for christmas and watched it a few days later, this truly is a hilarious, heartwarming, brilliantly comical movie.

The three protagonists work very well together, all bringing a their own sense of comedy to the movie.
The basic premise is that three brothers go to a small town called paradise in snowy pensylvania, once there they decide to rob a bank and take 275,000 dollars and give themselves a rich christmas. However what they don't expect to happen does, and they soon start to fall for the generous and caring towns folk, who are all oblivious to what they have done. Nicholas Cage, Jon Livotz and Dana Carvey, are very funny in this movie, the sense of humour is dry and can be enjoyed by all audiences no matter what their age. A thoroughly entertaining movie that not only puts you into the festive spirit but makes you laugh and laugh.

I stumbled on this film by accident, and now is a family tradition.

You have the classic tale of good winning over evil, the love factor

and above all the laughing in the aisles syndrome. The dead pan face

of Mr Cage, and the clowning smirks of his brothers prevail throughout.

I even watched this in the Summer.

This was a fantastically funny film, with lots of slapstick and great one-liners. It was also very heart-warming but not in the usual shmaltzy 'genre' way. Loved it!
