The second adventure for Jason Statham’s special forces agent-turned-courier Frank Martin, Transporter 2 matches the action quotient of the original, and then some.
This time around, we find that Frank Martin is working in Miami as a driver for a family. However, the young son of said family is kidnapped, and that sets Martin off on a one-man mission to get him back. And as Transporter 2 progresses, and Statham works his way through some terrific action sequences, you get a creeping feeling that you wouldn’t want to be in the shoes of the aforementioned kidnappers…
Doing Statham’s reputation as the modern day action hero no harm whatsoever, Transporter 2 is an absolute hoot. It dilutes the likes of plot and character development from the original, in favour of action sequences and scantily clad women, with logic not welcome anywhere at all.
But then this is a film that knows its audience, and goes to extreme lengths to try and please them. And, of course, at the heart of it is Mr Jason Statham himself, absolutely in his element, and doing his growing fanbase no harm whatsoever. That Transporter 2 looks better than ever in high definition is but the icing on an already action-packed and very violent cake. And you’re simply left eagerly awaiting the arrival of the third film on Blu-ray to complete the set. --Jon Foster

I enjoyed the original Transporter - good clean fun, action and, importantly, it didn't take itself too seriously. Transporter 2 carries along the entertainment.
Yes, the car stunts are way over the top - not a scratch on the car after being shot at, blown up, thrown through the air etc etc - but our man Frank is just so cool and composed - he even has a vacuum packed change of shirt, suit and tie in the boot!
What is exceptional are the fight scenes. Brilliantly choreographed, innovative, fresh and very enjoyable - he takes a bunch of baddies with a fire hose in one scene! No over long Matrix style never ending punch ups here - slick, fast and original set pieces with a touch of humour. Excellent.
This is a very good Friday night popcorn movie that will carry you along at a pace and with a smile. Would have given it 5 stars but for the slight 'no way' element of some car stunts - but that's me being a little harsh.
Rent. Enjoy. Bring on Transporter 3 I say!

Apologies for the indecisive review heading. I quite like Jason Statham, he starred in Snatch which was great, and he's been to bed with Kelly Brook, both good things to put on one's CV.
The Transporter films are pure popcorn, totally unbelievable. You could describe the action as amazing, or just too over the top, depending on your viewpoint. The action sequences are well put together, but sometimes...they're just SO hard to believe that instead of enjoying it you think that it's a bit silly. If you're the sort of person that won't think like that, you may well enjoy these movies.
This one is nowhere near as good as the first movie, however, the first one was less over the top, and I felt had better action sequences. Also his American accent is not good, in fact, it's bad - there, I said it.
In this second movie they also introduce the possibility of some romance, but Jason doesn't take his chance, because the woman in question is married. If I'd gone to all that trouble, and made my car do loop the loops over a bridge (he might as well have), I'd have felt I deserved a bit of how's your father.

About halfway through this film i was extremely angry at the unrealism of it then i got a sense of humor because this is truely an action masterpiece, pure action, terrible dialog. Frank Martin "Your flights been cancelled" Supervillian "No you've been cancelled". Genius just pure Genius. Avoid watching with a cynic and enjoy this pure action fest. a modern masterpiece of action. so bad its good, its awfully good!
