What can I say but another outstanding album from Runrig, this time the whole thing recorded live here in Scotland and Germany. As ever Donnie hammered out his vocal chords particularly on Harvest Moon. There's just one thing that gets me though, this band are currently taking the world by storm, and yet the radio stations refused to have them on air. Hey they may not have No 1s but this band deserve so much more after all the work they put into performing live and recording. Remember Donnie at Portree where he considered 1991 to have been the peak of Runrig's success, in all honestly Runrig's success is still growing, after almost 30 years Runrig haven't reached their peak of success yet. Thats what gets me about radio stations and music promoters. This albums, Transmitting Live is hard evidence that Runrig work their hardest at all times, maintain professional manner on stage and always come out with fantastic results. If your planning on buying this album be quick and treasure it before its too late.

My wife and i are Runrig fans. since we first heard them back in 1973 on a Heartland Cassette.
We went to see and hear them In Edinburgh perform the Transmitting Live Gig it was great.
Our annual treat was to go see them live , it is pity that Donnie Munro left the Band ,it is still good but not the same after Pete Wishart and Donnie left

Runrig are a GREAT band but for me this LIVE CD fails. Not because of the choice of tracks but because of the quality of the live recordings. The sound level of the instruments being played dominate the recording on several tracks at the expense of the clarity and quality of the superb vocals which are on studio versions.

Coming from the Homeland so to speak, We now have completed our collection so far of ALL RUNRIG CD/DVD recordings. Saw them perform LIVE at the Scone Palace event in August 2009. What a show indeed. I recommend that if you love RUNRIG musis purchase their Large Songbook RRP circa £35.00 possibly here on AMAZON. It is really worth every penny spent and off course you will be able to follow those very famous songs/ballads and perhaps learn those chords too (it has that facility in the Book). Long may Runrig flourish. They have a MASSIVE Scandanavian following, especially over in Denmark. The quality produced on this particular CD is tremendous, especially if it is played using digital surround mode at home, or in your music room. Go on purchase this album.

I've been a Runrig fan for many years and bought the casette of Transmitting Live early on. It's a good mix of their style using their own material and singing in Gaelic as well as English. I needed to buy the CD because I still love the music including their older stuff, and my car doesn't have a casette player now. If you like folk/rock you'll love this.
